The Chiesone plant in Gazzo Veronese (VR) has been in operation since 2012 and, following its reconversion from biogas to biomethane, became operational once more in December 2024. Managed by BTS DevCo, a BTS Group company established in 2022 to develop and operate biomethane plants, it represents one of BTS’ first direct projects. The plant treats up to 35,750 tonnes of organic by-products per year, producing 250 Sm3/h of biomethane, equal to about 2,125,000 Sm3 per year – enough to satisfy the consumptio of over 1,500 households!

It further generates 30,400 tonnes of digestate, a natural fertiliser useful in agriculture. By producing renewable energy and recovering by-products, the plant saves an estimated 4,500 tonnes of CO2 equivalent each year, contributing to environmental sustainability and to the region’s circular economy.
